everythings coming up

Alysha and I have coined a little phrase - please dont steal it - called The Take Off.
Everything for us is awesome and improving daily. whatever we stress about not working out does, or is better than we expected - also, amazing surprises are littered along the way.

Yesterday we got a late start and walked to Strand bookstore to meet up with Toby. didn't have what i was looking for but place was amazing.
on the way out noticed that David Sedaris is doing a reading of his new book there tonight. so you know - no big deal, just get to see one of our favourite authors for free by coincidence.
that's the take off at work.

then headed to the meat packing district and chelsea so alysha could take in the most expensive clothes in the world and toby cold scope some tiny and incredible galleries. most were closed because it was monday but one was opened. that happened to just be showing Picasso.
just a whole exhibit of Picasso in a tiny gallery in the meat packing district. for free.
Take-off!

headed to this club the Highline on w 16th. to see if we could get tickets to the Lykke Li concert that night, we knew it was sold out a while ago - but were hoping for a miracle. they said if we came back and waited in line there might be a few at the door.
so we came back and waited for an hour or so - almost gave up.
This girl walks up and says "all you are waiting for tickets right?" and me and alysha are all sad like yeah. and she asked whose in a pair and then gave us her tickets. you know what that is.

Had dinner in the club - so good.
had incredibly expensive drinks.
saw Lykke Li and fell in love with her, the city, the trip, pretty much everything i can think of.
In the most heart breaking way.

Took the train home and craaaaaashed.

plans for today: walk 5th or 1st to my cousin Jenny's place - meeting her fam for the first time.

the roots do a weekly jam at the bar we were at last night, like its just regular.
think its sold out, but might try after we see david sedaris

ps - if any of y'all don't read sedaris - start now.

pps - we love updates from everyone back home in our inbox!

xo.
