twin peaks....

today rain again.

we slept in late and took along time getting going. talked with hannah and played catch with samual for a while, then headed down mount royal. we ran into a street festival on st. laurent that marco told us was a new thing - it will go all weekend.

today i spoke twice as much french as i have on this trip so far. it was refreshing to know i still had it.

alysha and i walked to the end of mount royal and back. a little shopping, mostly people watching.
we were really into the way rona, mcdonalds and tim hortons slide into whatever buildings are available without making a big deal about it.

picked up some raspberries, smoked gouda, bree and baggette for lunch and sat in a park near marco's watching the street festival.

jogged over to st.denis where marco told us we could find the latin quarter...lots of good stoops. no shortage of stoops in montreal, winnipeg should probably borrow some.

exhausted by the time we got to st. catherines so we bought some mags and grabbed a coffee. both of us pretty much fell asleep.

headed for the metro to come back to marco's for a bit - only there were police swarming the whole area. walked to the next stop and found out there was a "police intervention" in the subway - marco told us later that happens when some jumps in front of there sometimes.

we thought about taking a bus but traffic was baaaaaaallistic so we walked back up st. laurent. came across a rad vintage store and spent some time there.
the buses were packed and one passing by had hannah and samual on it heading back from the science centre - gave samual our granola bar and kept walking.

street was still alive all that time later - looking forward to checking it out for a bit tomorrow on our way to pick up train tickets.

staying in tonight to watch twin peaks and point break with hannah and marco.

long day tomorrow - last stops: st. catherine's shops, the rest of the fine arts museum and the train station.

hopping the bus for NYC at 11 pm.
